My little one just turned 3 years old today and he celebrated his b-day last Friday at his daycare center... here's some pics...
I'm so proud of my baby boy and so happy to see him growing... wow time flies!
I also posted some other pics on FB... it's just that it goes faster and Scarlett does not allow me to stay on the computer for so long...

James came for a visit, this time it was a longer visit (1 week) that I spent doing paperwork... you just gotta love it! anyways, besides that it was very nice to have daddy here and we already miss him very much...
On other things, since daddy is not going to be able to visit us for Derek's b-day which happens next month, we ended up celebrating him, well the first celebration of his 3rd b-day, there will be another one or ones? Let's see...

Mother's day festival

It's been the first time that I had attended a mother's day festival, this of course, happened at the day care center that Derek attends and although I think Derek was a bit confused with all the people around and kids crying, he managed to do well and participate as much as possible, he was even crying at the beginning but then he did just fine.

This time we attended my niece's baptism in Mexico city, as usual, traveling with the kiddos for longer than an hour it becomes quite an experience; though normally Scarlett is the well behaved one, it turned out to be that Derek was a shiner this time... well, it was good and we had a good time and a good meal too... there was a mariachi band playing there and my dad sang a couple of songs with them, thank God I took the kids to the park nearby to avoid embarrassment (just kidding) but yes, he did sing a couple of songs.. anyways here's some pics... I posted more on my facebook account since it takes less time to do it...

My little Scarlett started to walk on April 1st (she actually took longer than what I expected) and although I'm very happy for that, at the same time it means that she's already a toddler, sniff sniff, no more baby Scarlett... anyways; on other things we spent Easter afternoon with Diego and Mario to be able to have the Easter Egg Hunt with them and it went pretty good!

SPRING PARADE!

Derek started going to a day care center since he was getting quite bored here without kids around, and though it's been only over a week, he already had his first parade. And I didn't get to go since I hit my little toe and got all swollen and black too and I wasn't able to walk so it was grandma that took him, so I had to be happy with a few pictures, PTL!

Of b-days and daddy's visit!

James came for a 4 days visit for Scarlett's b-day, we had a great celebration although it meant lost of cooking, baking, serving, entertaining, etc.... and lots of cleaning of course, but it was worth it. We also celebrated James' b-day at the same time, well it was mainly a surprise b-day cake for him! It was a very short visit because of Jame's work, but anyways we enjoyed it.
Before leaving, we went to Chapultepec's zoo in Mexico city and then to the airport, sniff sniff....

6 months!

Our little Scarlett just turned 6 months last Thursday, she's starting to eat solids, sit up and crawl and be noisy too (we don't really like that part) but so far she's a very easy baby.

Derek is doing good with his potty training and has basically no accidents anymore (that is a great victory), he's talking is getting a bit clearer, though it seems that he only speaks English and not Spanish. We don't have so many pics this time, we've been kind of lazy on this aspect, but here are some.

Vacations

This year due to so many things happening in the home, we had a 3 day break only. We spent two days in Rosarito and one day at home, since someone took Derek for the day and Scarlett for a few hours TYJ!
We also attended a special dinner in Ensenada and were able to see all the sweet people of the area, we had a good time there!

Derek is turning 2 years old today and since daddy had to go working, we decided to celebrate it before the actual day. He ended up having two celebrations, the first one while we were in Ensenada and another one during our last family day. We are so happy to see him growing, he's such a cute little boy, WE LOVE YOU DEREK, HAPPY B-DAY!

As you can see, there was a problem with the cake, but it was really yummy!

Bueno pues creo que es mi turno de escribir algo en este blog, he decidido hacerlo en Espanol para que mi familia entienda, especialmente mis padres, quienes adoran a nuestros bebes. (A todas las personas que hablan y escriben espanol, una disculpa pues este teclado no tiene todas los caracteres necesarios para una correcta ortografia.)

Well here are some recent pics of whats been happening. Yes I know its been awhile since the last post. Hopefully there will be more pics coming soon as soon as I can get it off a friends camera. Scarlett is doing pretty good, quite a happy baby. Derek though is entering his terrible twos with full force. But besides that they're both very well. For those who might have been wondering about the whole swine flu in this neck of the woods. Its been basically unseen here, besides people worrying and wearing face masks. I think there have been only 4 cases here in Baja California, though I cant remember for sure as some places said it was one, others 4 and others none. But oh well alls well that ends well. And here are the pics

Well a month has come and gone, boy that was fast. Scarlett turned a month old yesterday. She's doing pretty good, still doesnt sleep by herself the whole night but she doesn't cry much so that's good. Here are some pictures of the last month, of Scarlett and Derek. Sarai started to do "school" with Derek, flash cards, pre-writing exercises, etc. So here are some pics of that. Well Scarlett is now two weeks old, thankfully these last few weeks have been pretty good. She sleeps soundly pretty much for at most of the day though she hasnt got that down pat yet at night. She sleeps pretty well at night so long as she is next to Sarai so that means mommy doesn't sleep so well. But on the good side she doesn't have the colic like Derek did. Well are few pics I took of her while she slept.

Well today was the big day! Sarai had the C-section and everything went well and Scarlett was born. She was 50 cm. and weighed 3.2 kilos. This post won't be too long since I'm here briefly to put Derek to sleep before going to back to hospital to be with Sarai. Pictures will be forthcoming soon. If all goes well Sarai and Scarlett should be coming back Thursday morning so please keep them in your prayers. Thanks so much

Well here we are again, I'm making progress in shortening the length of time between posts as well as taking more pictures. Funny thing is both me and Sarai are not picture people, we quite often forget to take our camera out with us and when we do take it, we plum forget to use it. Ah c'est la vie. Here are some recent pictures I took yesterday.
That's the view of the toll road going south, the 60+ mile stretch between here and Ensenda has some particularly magnificent views as it passes by the sea.

The doctor said she's already engaged, Sarai hasn't been able to move about too much now, probably due to that. Scarlett Sophia!!

No its not open to discussion, and no its not a democracy, haha.

Due to the author's tardiness in not giving frequent posts we shall give a small recap of the last 6 weeks.
January started with a bang, but not a good one, both parents were knocked flat, literally, with a particularly nasty flu bug. Junior caught it, but thankfully it only lasted less than 24 hours. Dad, unfortunately wasn't so fortunate, it took me over a week to fully recuperate. Then on to the new campaign, potty training...
The campaign still has not been completed, Junior is showing his stubborn side, we are determined to stay the course and win the "War against Diapers". On a brighter side, he has started to talk albeit briefly, his repertoire consists of dadadada and mamamama, for some reason he must feel that more he draws the name out the more attention he will receive heh.
He does talk extensively when he plays but we still have not been able to find the translator, maybe we really dont want to...;)

Oh please keep Sarai in your prayers, Scarlett will be coming via C-section. Our doctor told us that if we wanted to have a natural delivery we would need to wait two years after Derek was born before Sarai could get pregnant. Since we didn't meet the deadline the C-section will be happening, and DV without any problems, Scarlett will greet the world March 10th sometime in the morning.

Yes, yes I know I'm very late, and haven't posted in an eon. I thought this would be easier but it never is hehe. Well a lot has happened during this absence from the blog. We celebrated our wedding anniversary, Sarai had her birthday, we went for vacation to see her parents,.....and we're having a baby girl.
Yep! my prayers have been answered, we're not still a hundred percent on the name so we won't announce it yet, I think we'll wait till Sarai's last trimester before announcing it. Well here are some pictures, you know they a picture is worth a thousand words, and well I prefer pictures than typing more and more, so here they are.

A Quartet

Well its official, our little family is going to increase. We will be having another little Olinger, well here in Mexico it would be an Olinger Lavana, ha. We went to the gynecologist and the lil one is about 9-10 weeks old, a lil over 2 centimeters long. So please keep Sarai in your prayers, thankfully her morning sickness hasnt been so bad this time, though her back has been giving her some problems, but she's doing well and is excited and happy about the new one.
Yes I know some are going to call me or us crazy but oh well c'est la vie.

We tried to take some good pics with Derek wishing the birthday girls a happy birthday. But the lil one wasnt always so cooperative. Well on Friday, the little munchkin turned 1 year old. We had a party for him in evening, many thanks to Sarai's dad who helped us get his cake and some other presents. Thankfully he did very good for his first birthday as many kiddos get very whiny and upset on their birthday with all the activity and excitement. As ever the lil one showed off his photogenic side, and well I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

Yep, its begun, the little munchkin has started his steps out of babyhood and into toddler life. Oh boy its going to get busy, haha. We got some pictures of him but most of them didn't turn out so well so I only have a couple of pics. We also went to a local water park, and the lil one got his first taste of aquatic fun.

Tardiness

Yes, yes I know I am a delinquent blogger and haven't posted anything in nearly in a month for which I apologize. I shall try to do better.
Well last week we had a momentous occasion, I and Sarai got married......legally. We had the ceremony about a year ago. The reason for the delay was because we live in Mexico and I am a foreigner I need permission from the government to get legally married. Basically what that entails is paying a hefty to the government and then getting a slip of paper, sounds straight forward enough? Not quite, one of the things I had to do was get an apostile on my birth certificate, basically its a verification to show that the document is authentic. Anyways long story short..after a few boo-boos by the State Dept. and some hassle by someone who couldn't understand that even though I was born in Chile I got an American birth certificate because my parents were American, the happy event took place and alls well that ends well...hehe. So we'll be including a few pics of the event as well some pics of the munchkin's 11th month day.

Well here is a picture of our next neighbors, the reason its going on here is they began building this house just before Derek was born. They finished it a couple weeks ago.

Well I thought it was time to update this blog again. Last week we had a talent night of sorts. Derek had his own exhibit, he had been training for weeks to perform with the assistance of Jimmy, his faithful helper, haha. The training`consisted of putting a MP3 player at the end of a green caterpillar with Derek's favorite "Celtic" musci playing. Regardless he performed well doing his "trainer" proud. Here is the lil chub.
